Well, as bgkast said maybe cutting and welding will be the way to go. Forced, were the transmissions' housings too different? I mean, was the w201 housing bigger than the w123? My main concern is if there's enough room in the w123 body to fit the w201 transmission...

I have access to a w123 4-speed from a friend. I just need to start looking for a w201 5-speed. I think I might be able to get one from a 190D 2.2
