Okay, it's more clear now. Basically, you got the rear bow latched during the interim and now need it unlatched. Not having the rear bow unlatch is every cabriolet owner's nightmare. I wish I could be more helpful.

I can't remember exactly, but I believe I replaced the main four cylinders with the top up.
