Damn, That convertible on ebay. I just saw it. How could a garaged
car have rust through anywhere? My little TD lived in Conneticut for most of it's life. Very near the west coast for the last few years. YES, I repaired
some rust, but not rusted through floorboards. Can that happen on an "always garaged car?" I'd love to bid on this anomaly. I thought I was done with car projects. I love my new TD. Couple opinions please from this forum if you will.
1. Does this car have any unusual value beyond what it is? If it is truly collectible I'd have to "restore" it. Been there done that, just too much work. Restored cars have to be perfect. Perfection is painful

.
2. I'd like to put a 617 in it, if I can get it for under 6G. Sell wife's 84 300SD. I could make this car structurally and cosmetically acceptable. Drop in an OM617, fix all the rust and have something pretty unique for 10G.
3. OR I could get it for up to 8G and leave it a gasser, fix all the cosmetics
and still have a different W123.
Whatcha all think? Worth the hassle?
