If there is anyone out there that could point me in the right direction for correcting a problem with my 83 300 D, it usually won't start in the morning in park and usually won't start in the morning or when it's damp even in neutral. Lately I've had to go through activating the glow plug, have the gear in reverse, and then when the glow plug light goes off, I shift from reverse to neutral while at the same time turning over the key. That has been working until this week.

Currently it is a game of roulette and I would really just like to have a car that starts.

Would someone please educate me to what the problem is and if there is a course of action to restore reliable start-up.
