Snibble the Yugo was doing fairly well over here a few years ago, until they found a dangerous fault on the righthand drive versions. To make them saleable over here they had to convert lefthanders to righthanders.Everything was done well except on the early models the levers for the brake came through the floor.Apparently all they did was cut the levers off flush with the floor and weld a plate over the hole.
Now when you're a passenger in a car who can drive, and you think the driver is braking a bit late you tend to involuntarily go for your own imaginery brake pedal right?Unfortunately due to a miscalculation on someones behalf this action was causing the brakes to be applied by the passenger as opposed to the driver!!Lead to some nasty accidents, after this people tended to lose faith in the cars.Bear
