I don't understand what you are referring to here.

I am going to go ahead and install the "newer" transmission without connecting the vacuum signal to the device at the end of the bowden cable. I need to check to insure that they are the same length before I install it. My plans are to do it first thing in the morning.

The device at the end of the bowden cable adjusts the shift point based on engine temp or some such as that. I am not going to connect anything to it and just be glad the transmission will go into high gear. I did not find out what the device that controls the hydraulic signal on the drivers side of the old transmission does.

I should finish it before lunch tomorrow. A lift and tranny jack make the job pretty straight forward. I have already replaced the transmission front seal.
