From that picture, why on earth would you want A/C?

But for the record, no, R22 is not a replacement for, nor compatible with R12. And as an intereseting sidenote, "Freon" is actually Dupont's registered name for a line of refrigerants, R12 included, like "kleenex" is to facial tissue. R12 shouldn't be all that hard to get ahold of. We use it about equally compared to R134a.
