OK, that one disconnected check valve goes to your door lock system. A coupe has another one, and the vac line is blue in color, I remember now.
I imagine there is a leak somewhere, and plugging off the door locks will remove said leak, and you can shut the engine off with the key.
The brown vac lines go to the starter switch.
