I recently bought an 83 300D Turbo and the girl I bought it from did NOTHING to her. I got her cheap because she thought there was a ton of work that she needed. After looking through this forum and making some very minor adjustments, doing some routine maintenance that was very much needed, she runs like a CHAMP!
Transmission was shifting hard, reconnected one tiny little line, changed out the fuel filters and bled the system, ran diesel purge through 2 tanks now, changed the oil, air filter etc and now she runs wonderful! I still have to get the new Rack damper bolt and I am taking her to my trusty MB mechanic to check the valves and change out the transmission fluid and filter but other than that she is wonderful now.
I went to the junk yard and pulled some interior parts and I have yet to do that to make her pretty again. Because of this forum one tiny petite little lady was able to do all of this work herself. I paid 800 dollars for her and I love her! I attached a pic of my new old girl....
