Dang - only one more unemployment check to go
Good news is it sounds like a hella fun opportunity. And they want me enough to work around my 'can you make the numbers look awful to the ex-wife so I can get THAT noose loosened and make it up in other more interesting ways' needs.
Excitement starts now since they want me to start yesterday. And 'they' are in MD. I (and my darling wife, our zoo, and our stuff) am in CT.
So we went down last week to a) get me interviewed (first round of face to face interviews - prior to that, it was one 20 minute phone discussion with the boss to be), and b) look at houses to see if we could afford to accept the kind of offer we expected to get.
I interviewed (Tuesday), went well, walked away pretty sure an offer would be forthcoming (and it was, Friday). Aforementioned darling wife 1) found us a RE agent (who rocks, based on a recommendation from the gal she used to sell her previous domicile) 2) a house (way cool Victorian on a couple acres that is WAY under priced), 3) a loan - by this afternoon we'd been pre-qualified (by the totally kick arse mortgage guy she used before), 4) a place for me to stay (with her friend/former tenant/all around great guy) weeknights until we can close on said house. Have I ever mentioned that my wife, and her ability to make and keep connections, is absolutely amazing?
Offer is in, now we a) wait to hear if we can get it, and b) start packing.
Let the fun (a.k.a. roller coaster, express version) begin!
