It's hard to get the engine out without pulling the AC condensor. You thought is good on the compressor though. If you think you can get the lump up and over the condensor then go for it.

I did remove the radiator and plan to put a 1/4" board over the condensor to protect it while removing. I've also removed the fan. There seem to be plenty of remove to lift it out but really not sure. I hope I can figure some way to move the compressor out of the way. I can do all the a/c servicing but really hope it will not be necessary.
