I also throw my used tranny oil in there. Ive also ran nearly pure motor oil in my car (needed to get somewhere, had probably a half gallon of diesel in the car, added a gallon of used atf and use motor oil). Car ran fine, didnt even smoke. Didnt smell different than diesel oil.



Here my theory. If people can run vegetable oil in these cars for thousands of miles and the engine takes it pretty well, a gallon here or there of a petroleum based lubricant oil isnt going to hurt anything.


Think about what vegetable oils are. Their extremely long chain triglycerides derived from sqeezing plants. Actually right now my car has 1 gallon of used motor oil in the tank, 1 gallon of vegetable oil, and a gallon of diesel fuel. This is because I ran out of gas, coasted into a gas station (that was closed for the night and i lost my check card) that was empty, poured in a gallon of motor oil but it wasnt enough to prime the car, went and got a gallon of cooking oil across the street and got it going. I later got a gallon of diesel to dilute it because I felt bad for my IP
