I think I uderstood Greg - He is talking about the trim on the quarter panel that is about 9" or so long.

On my car that piece has been loose on the driver's side for the 19 years I have owned the car!

There is a cryptic instruction in the chassis manual (68-500) on how to remove it. If you feel under the rear fender, there should be a stud sticking through with a nut on it. If you remove that nut, apparently you can slide the trimstrip forward and it will come off.
