It's a bit expensive, even considering the fuel economy benefit. Can it pass American safety standards as currently configured? If not, count on a fuel economy-killing weight gain.

For the US, this would be a better idea in a Focus or Jetta-sized sedan, even if fuel economy was a little compromised. It would be more versatile.
