I have seen a few at gas stations around, and talk to the owners every so often. None of the other owners that I have talked to have used them for the purpose they were built for.

My indy also have 1 other G that he services, but its an older diesel that does not get driven much.
There are many of us in the USA who use the G's exactly as they were designed. I've been driving one since 1984; and they've taken me to some very nice and isolated spots.

Attached are a couple of photos taken in the San Juan Mountains of SW Colorado. The foursome shot is at +13,000 on the Imogene Pass Trail after having started the day on the Black bear Trail. Google them to see if they classify as places for which these trucks were built. Left to right, the trucks are from Chattanooga, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Albuquerque.

The other shot is at the top of California Pass, also above 13,000 ft and in the San Juans.

The sunset shot is at Point Sublime on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. It takes a vehicle driving for the purpose it was built to traverse the 20 mile 4WD track to get there.

To repeat, there is a cadre of folks in the US who use them exactly for the purpose they were built.
