I'd guess Cuban seed. If the band didn't say "Habana" they are cuban seed, not grown and rolled there, but like 99% of the R&J's Motecristos AF's ect..., grown and rolled in Dominican Republic. I would find it highly unlikely a legit cigar store would sell illegally imported Cubans in a storefront atmosphere. That's a big risk for little return.

Also, those were likely checkers tables, not chess. There used to be a bar in Richmond called Habana 55 that was similar--checkers and dominos.
