The US media is by no means the only one beholden to ideological considerations. The BBC has long been a hotbed of extreme liberal PC philosophy. Maybe not as an official policy but simply in terms of the outlook of many of the people who work there. It always amazes me the way people seem to think of the BBC as some sort of impartial reporting source. Most people who go into journalism are graduates of liberal educational institutions, especially in Europe and the BBC is no exception.

As to what they are trying to promote. I have not seen the programs so I could well be wrong but from the descriptions of them on that link it seems like a rather stupid attempt to blame the return of the Crusades on the machinations of a small group of conservatives in the US, in a ridiculous collusion with their sworn enemies in the Islamic world.

I guess that would be a European version of the loons who hang around Ron Paul saying Bush did it on 911.
