I've tried searching and can't seem to find the answer.

My climate control unit is shot. (I purchased the car with it not working. I have absolutely no use of the fan or defroster, only what finds its way through the vents while cruising. The fan does work in all speeds when I disconnect the fuse for the CCU but everything else on the fuse doesn't work - including the turn signals)

I tried re-soldering the circuit board (the one I can see when pulling off the cover) to no avail.

Can I use the CCU's from Benz models of similar years? If so, which ones? I've seen a few in a couple 420SEL's in the junkyard and they look similar.
