There are three versions of wiring with respect to start-up: 1) the light comes on and stay on until you are traveling about 5 mph; 2) the light comes on and goes off once you hit 10.5 volts; and 3) the light immediately goes off once the engine is running.

Dropping below 10.5 volts will trip a fault.
