Thumbs up Yes, fill the pump with engine oil!
" remove the fill plug and add 0.4 liter of oil initial fill when replacinf IP" 617 Engine manual, 07.1, 200, Removal and Installation of IP, bottom of page 4 shows the fill plug on the out board side of the IP below and slightly forward of the ALDA. Its a hex head probably 17 mm or so. Good Luck!
