I have a 1982 240D with manual transmission that I have owned since 1994 and have put about 50k on. It has no engine shock absorber. It does have some type of engine vibration bumper on the bottom attached to the cross member, but no shock. It has the original engine, and to my knowledge has not been rebuilt.
