It looks like the blower motor on my '92 400E needs to be replaced. I've seen blower motors listed with and w/o dust filters and with and w/o the squirrel cages.

Is there a difference in the motors (no squirrel cage) with and w/o the filter?

Can I find out if need the dust filter version w/o taking things apart?
