Thanks all, crisis over. Store guys say it is 57" from door handle to door handle, but either way the table fit, once the legs were off.

I could look at this one of two ways: you guys just saved me $900--because apparently the table was $600 cheaper at the store in NOLA, and they wanted $300 to ship it. Or I could look at it like you guys just screwed me, because if I had told her it was say 47", she may have concluded the table was just too expensive and not gotten it.
