I like how the Finn raves about the heater. Heater quality ain't an issue for the week or so I may use it.
Thanks again.

You are very welcome!!!
Apparently those Webasto heaters, that you still find in the older Mercedes sometimes, do the trick.
And in Sweden and Finland, the combo of a remote starter, a Webasto, and winter and summer diesel fuel available makes owning a diesel very viable now even in -30* C. winter weather.
The Europeans are sold on station wagons *and* diesel engines. Petrol costs $9.00 a gallon in Denmark in 2008 I have read.

I would likely even consider trading in my new Outback wagon for an even newer one with that Boxer diesel engine. it's a big hit in Europe already.
All you need to know about Subie Outbacks can be found on the Mercedesshop like forum and
www.subaruoutback.org
I would encourage you to nose around there, ALL the owners share experiences, tips, knowledge there, even the dealers get reviewed there.
Having one PLUS the Mercedes in the garage makes me feel there is always a car for all reasons in the garage to choose
