I am a volunteer with a cross-country ski association. I am responsible for maintenance on a pisten-bully snow cat which uses an MB OM616 engine.

Now I am looking for replacement muffler. It seems not to use the same system as MB cars, eg, the 240 or 190 series. Instead it has a single muffler that vents vertically up the back of the cab. It has an Eberspacher muffler, badly cracked, with the following stampings:

16 07 382 02 000 VIII87
8 341018 000

It measures 14"/360mm long

Oval shape
8"/200mm wide
5"/130mm thick

It bolts to a bracket on the machine, so i would prefer to find a reasonably close match.


Any suggestions about back-pressure ratings or helpful manufacturers might be helpful in locating a compatible part.
