Yes, the Honda head is very sensitive to warpage after an overheat.

This happened to our 1999. The head will need to be removed and machined before being reinstalled.

After reading of some people putting "good money after bad" and still having oil in the water after replacing th head gasket we decided to just change the engine with a guaranteed unit from a salvage yard.
