Thanks for the tip. I had no idea the ball end would just pop off.

The small flat plastic switch thingy on the valve cover has two thin electrical wires coming into it, and I don't see any vacuum lines into or out of it. On the aft end of the switch is a lever that must cause the circuit to either close or open when the accelerator is floored because that lever is only moved when the throttle mechanism has reached its stop.
