More Lifter Noise Diagnosing - W202

I know theres topics here on lifter noise but none that I could find on W202 (C220).

I've had the noise for 2 weeks now. Changed oil 2x but no significant improvement. last weekend, I opened valve cover just to see if theres anything physically loose inside but of course nothing was.

To remove the vc on the C220, the intake duct, MAF connector and spark plug wires have to be disconnected. After I put it back and started the car, it ran like it was missing some cylinders. I wiggled plug wires to make sure they were all the way in but no luck. The wires looked like they've been around for some time so i ordered a set. I'm thinking maybe one or 2 of them went bad when i was doing the work. I'm suppose to get them tomorrow. I might change the plugs while i'm at it. Hopefully, this is the problem.
