Finally found it. Thanks for all your replies. The trick was to get my head to the rear of the cross member that runs under the converter. Then looking up past the crossmember at about a 45 degree angle there is an opening about 1 x 1 1/2 inches in the casting which surroundas the converter. Rotate the crankshaft and there is the plug in the converter. Milt.
