For 8 years MB suggested fill for life fluid.....seems the transmissions were failing before normal "lifetime".

So in 2003 they issued a bulletin suggesting that a 1 time service at 60K kilometers would do. Now in 2009 they recommend trans fluid changes every 40K miles.

Same fluid, same trans!
