.mp3. Lame encoded to it's highest bitrate (NOT VBR!!!)



you will see a loss is sound quality - .mp3 is a compressed format. You wont notice any of it on you ipod, though.



If you have the room, I would save everything .wav and convert it twice; save the .wav backups on cd's (.wav is a lossless file)
