In the side of the reservoir, held in with a circlip. It has a plug, with two wires clipped on it. It's just a simple float - if the incline is really that steep, it's no biggie. Add a cup or two of water, and see what happens. Now that it's a little bit colder out, the level might have dropped enough to make a difference.
