I just bought a Toshiba 32AV500U LCD for use as a computer monitor. Yes, I know it is a HDTV, but we don't watch TV in our house (haven't done so for 6 years). This screen is being hooked up to the VGA out of a laptop. Anyway, when used for surfing the web, photos, email, etc. the picture looks awesome. But if I put a DVD in and play it full screen, there is a small rectangle-shaped area in the upper right corner which intermittently appears out of sync with the rest of the image. Everything is super sharp and all, but every once in a while the picture in this small rectangle appears to be out of sync. I can't tell if it's lagging or leading, since it occurs so briefly, but it's definitely noticeable and is not right. The rectangle appears to migrate upwards, but it's always located in the upper right corner.

I know it's not a software DVD player issue, because if I do an instant movie through Netflix the box is there as well. And I don't think it's the LCD itself, because if I hook up an external DVD player through the RCA jacks and view it through Aux 1 the picture is just fine and there's no out-of-sync rectangle.

The laptop is running Windows XP and all drivers are the latest (just updated video driver to rule it out). If I hook up the old monitor, a 19-inch widescreen with 1400 resolution, the picture is just fine.

Has anyone ever seen anything like this before?
