Thank you for all the input.

I had the pan down, cleaned pan out, removed OP from engine and cleaned strainer. Ran pump in some kersosene and she pumped the kerosene gang busters. The pan had not been down on the engine.. fortunately whoever owned this stopped prior to that. I put pump back up on engine, gear has a triangular shape center hole that matches up the shaft. Checked chain and made sure on sprockets etc. I saw no evidence of the pump being worked on at all. I am going to remove oil filter housing and see if I get any oil at that point when I crank the engine, injector lines loose of course lol.
