I would suspect they unplugged something , electrical/vac. Look at air crossover pipe and see if the air temp sensor is back in its hole.
You can check codes on that car yourself with the led/sw near the battery . Do a Search on procedure. This will give you the code for the reason of CE light.
If you can get that , I can tell you what it means.
If you are not mechanical, have someone else check the codes
for you.
