I used to get angry with phone solicitors, but ultimately I realized it is a job for them, and no doubt not one of their first choice. Now as soon as I find out it is a solicitor I say “no thank you and will you please take me off your calling list.” Then I thank them for their help and say good by. It is pleasant, and takes about 30 seconds, and I no longer get worked up by the intrusion.

It takes a little time but works well. Once off a calling list, when the list gets sold 50 million times you are not there
