I work slow on my SDL, doing a bit at a time. Love this forum, used as reference before starting and during whatever part I'm replacing. Did my engine mounts, compared old to new, old had dropped almost an inch from new ones, what a difference in idle steadiness. Today I put in new shifter bushings, can't say replace because no old ones left. Car was so bad it would roll in park and sometimes not start unless I moved gear shift, thats all changed. While doing bushings I was looking at transmission mount, so what the heck replaced it also, the old had collapsed about 1/2 inch from new. Have had a box of replacement parts for over a year, was qouted $4-500 to have them installed by indie, am slowly whittling down parts so when I have him do what I can't the labor should be considerably less. Everything I've done makes a difference in car handling and sound and feel, be nice when I get brakes and front end up to snuff, may get some idea of what it was like new.
