I just got an 88 560SL about a week ago. I'm incredibly happy with it and I have wanted one of these since I can remember. I had a huge amount of work done on it, everything replaced as far as wires tubes and such go. The mechanic that did it knows his stuff too and has done a great job working on my dads 86 560SL since before I was born.
He was however stumped by a problem I have been having. It's two fold and I'm guessing they are related. The car is refusing to start back up again after it's been turned off for anything less than 5-10 minutes. I can try, it will refuse to work, and then a couple minutes later it will start up with no problem at all.
Also the car has died a total of three times on me and wont start up again for a few minutes. All three times have been when I was just moving at idle speed or under 5mph.
Has anyone else had these or similar problems? Is it just something I will have to deal with? I've been looking for some answers and found this forum where everyone seemed to be very knowledgeable and I was hoping I could get some answers. Thanks!
