The intent was racist. Hard to deny it. Denigration is denigration. I wouldn't have freaked out about it but I wouldn't have said it either.

FWIW, I was once in line at a grocery store in Seattle and one of the checkers was saying something to another one about a woman and ended derisively with, "yeah, well she was blonde."

Tow headed cmac, just behind him, said "Let's not have any racism now."

Dude, balding with dark hair said, "but, but, she was from California."

cmac (doing the horizontal flexing arms backwards routine) says: "Well us blonde people get a little tired of that stuff."

It's just weak $h!t. Running someone else down in a vain attempt to feel superior. Don't be dissing my sister, foo'.
