A friend rebuilt my 77 300D trans. We got the rebuild kit from DACCO in Cookeville, TN, they also had a repair manual. Total kit including manual was around $270. It included front seals, reverse band, and the fwd bands. The tranny for the 77 is straight fwd. Don't know about the SD. Don't remember any special tools. Hope this helps,
