Not sure what you mean by "fuel cooler", but I've done a fair amt. of fuel system renovation at the rear of a '91 300-SEL.
The biggest issue in my opinion is access.
Back the car up on a good set of ramps for better access.
Also - for fuel line work I would recommend investing in a set of metric flare nut wrenches. Sears is one place that carries them.
