Hold it... there are screws underneath that hold this plastic piece on. But don't do this yet.

I took a (junk) hardtop apart down to metal just to understand the relationship of the parts.

I think that after you remove the nuts (2) on the bottom the part (top piece and plate) will come out from the top after you unscrew the bottom from that top piece.

If you HAVE to remove the plastic piece, there are screws underneath it accessible from under the top. Hopefully, you have this on a top stand.

This plastic is vinyl over foam, and is very delicate.

Get the height exactly like the one on the other side, because if its wrong the top won't latch properly or worse, set too low.
