Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply. I just purchased a pair or strikers from the rear doors of a W123. We were unsuccessful at adjusting the originals.
BTW, a local shop that is frequented by XKE's, Austin Healey's, and a good number of SL's quoted me 'around $125' to adjust the doors. What's that come to for an experienced mechanic, $250/hour. Glad I didn't just fall out of the trees this morning.
