Jones was a Christian socialist whack job. To say he was a Marxist with pseudo Christianity is misleading I think. He was first a Christian and then a communist, just like the early Christian church was communist. I wouldn't call him a fundamentalist, except insofar as many fundamentalists are followers of male authority cults. He definitely integrated aspects of Pentecostalism into his ministry. There's a good recent documentary on Jonestown, I may have posted a thread about it a year or so ago(?) when it was in the theaters momentarily.
He had sexual relationships with many of his followers.
