While I was bidding on an '88 190D 2.5 on eBay in Idaho,

http://www.cars.com/ and struck the deal the next morning.
It has far fewer miles than the Idaho car and it's 800 miles closer. The motor mounts were just changed and it has new tires.
I saw the turbo on eBay. It's what I really started out looking for, but will probably go for too much. I don't like the dark blue cloth interior though. The 2.5 is a good fit in this chassis. I think the 2.2 is a little stressed, but if run mildly can get great milage. We'll see what this one does on the way home.
