Recently, Dave, a Vietnam War vet, called my radio show just to say “thanks” for the broadcasts. As I quizzed him, Dave told me he was out of money, was going to lose his truck and was dying of cancer and, yet, he felt “blessed” because a long-time friend had called him out of the blue and asked him if he wanted to grab a beer.
