When I changed fluids on my car I used Mobil synthetic trans and gear lubricant for the trans and rear diff. With the trans I did notice better shifting with the synthetic.

Cannot really tell the about the dif. fluid but as an interesting aside while filling the diff. I noticed that on the bottle top there is a mercedes star logo.

Just thought it was interesting.
