You can definitely fix this in the parking lot. I have no doubt at all of this.
If your situation resembles mine at all a few months ago then I will just tell you what I did and it might help you out.

I simply cut off the section of the hose that was messed up and took it to my local hose fabricator/supplier in Knoxville (Royal Brass and Hose) and I told them what I needed and that I did not want to take off the metal sections of pipe from the car.

They fabricated threaded fittings and rubber hoses together that fixed my problem.

Being that I do not know your exact situation I cannot help you to much into the details. This should be of some assistance though.
