I cut the crimped collars of my original Oil Cooler hoses and replaced it with some Good Year Hose suited for the job. However, the barbs on the Oil Cooler Hose fittings are larger than 1/2 inch and smaller than 5/8 making it a sloppy fit so I used 2 hose clamps on each hose end.

Also, the first hose (the 1/2 inch) I ordered was too tight and I put on and drove the car for 2 weeks with a piece of heater hose (the red heavy duty type) until the 5/8 hose arrived and I put that on and it has been OK for at lest 1 year now.

So as a temp you could substitute Heater Hose.
I have been trying to post some pics but my internet is not functioning well.
Other possibilities are to cut the hose and plug them and put hose clamps on.

Cut the hose shove in a length of pipe and double clamp each end.
