For Mercedes automatics, use Dexron III/Mercon fluid. In the differential, use 80W-90 gear oil. I wouldn't recommend synthetic, as it can lead to leaks in both the tranny and the diff.

In limited slip differentials, you MUST use special oil. There will be a tag on the diff case stating whether or not it requires special oil.
